Cyprus: The Road to Paphos

I am just going to spoil the surprise now: CYPRUS IS AMAZING. How amazing (since I say this a lot...)??!?!! It is on the backup plan list for retirement-life locations level of amazing. Does that say enough?

Cyprus is its own country, strongly Greek and strongly Turkish, with a whole history of political turmoil that leads right up to current day with Turkey laying claim to the northern part of the island. This incredible island is a direct 4 hour flight from Abu Dhabi and it was extraordinarily easy to rent a car to explore on our own. We landed in Larnaca (south-east) but were staying in the seaside town of Paphos (west wide), about a 2 hour direct drive. Direct is definitely NOT the path we took, it the most glorious way. Cyprus has a very robust and interesting history that includes many archeological remnants to explore. And explore we did!
