Italy: Rome- Castles and Soccer!

There is definitely no shortage of history and ancient buildings in Rome. One of the major ones is Castel Sant'Angelo, for which we waited in line for a couple of hours. Fortunately, the weather was divine and the people watching was great.

Time to satiate our appetites:

Homemade pasta with truffle sauce

Of course, gnocchi!

Seeing as how all 3 of my traveling companions were soccer players growing up, it only made sense that we would capture a Roma (the local team) game. As stated multiple times here, because we try to do it everywhere we go, I absolutely LOVE attending local sporting events in person! The energy and enthusiasm of the crowd is just so much fun to be a part of, and watching the crowd is almost more interesting the game itself!

The view from our seats!

Soccer love

Security preparing to keep the rival fans safely separated

Me and my Mayer Boys

Ahhh...the humor of family <3

The arm strength that it took to wave these flags the ENTIRE game...I'm in awe!

Our view of the home team fans doing their job extraordinarily well!

Security getting serious with the rivals fans!

I love my brother <3

Even the wares hawker was captivated! He took a seat and stopped selling to the crowd!
